There are plenty of great places to eat in Seaside! Best of all, most Seaside Heights Rentals are located in walking distance to most, if not all local eateries.

Ocean View Restaurant. Located on the beach front, this restaurant offers breathtaking ocean views along with a menu offering something for everyone. Indulge in a lobster roll, savor juicy burgers, or sample their chef’s specials. Not listed on the menu but they do have kids meals available. Fair warning, the service can be slow, but on most nights the ambiance can make up for it.

PJs Place blends a serene ambiance of the shore with an array of culinary options. Indulge in a selection of fresh seafood, tantalizing Italian dishes, and succulent steaks. The offers the convenience of curbside pickup as well as both indoor and outdoor seating. Best of all, you are welcome to bring your own beverages. Discover the perfect combination of flavors and unwind in a relaxed setting that captures the essence of seaside living.

Lobster Dock is a friendly and inviting establishment where you can delight in excellent lobster rolls, fresh seafood platters and clam chowder, bursting with an abundance of clams. Located on the Boardwalk (above the former Aztec Bar) the location offers stunning ocean views, allowing you to enjoy your meal in a picturesque setting. Just steps away from Casino Pier, treat yourself to a taste of the sea and prepare to be captivated by the freshness of our ingredients and the warm atmosphere. The menu is a bit pricy as you are paying for the fresh seafood.

Seaside Heights Summer Rentals 2024

If you’re looking Seaside Heights rentals, there are plenty of options! You can find everything from luxurious VRBOs to budget friendly motels. Typically, you will find the younger crowd at the motels (specifically for prom in May and June), while families lean towards renting homes and condos.

Shoreside Village Rentals

Our vacation rental is part of Shoreside Village. Shoreside Village is a private gated community that has 24 townhomes. 3 of the homes have 2 bedrooms, 2 have 5 and the rest all have 4 bedrooms.

Directly in the center of the Seaside Heights Boardwalk, and directly across the street from it, you can get back to the townhouse in minutes no matter where you are. 

Our beach house rental is a notch above the rest. We take great pride in our beautifully decorated 4 bedroom 4.5 bathroom luxury beach house.  We have also made a special effort to be family and child friendly. As parents, we know how difficult it can be to travel with your kids and all their ‘stuff’. In our home, we have several pack and plays, a full size high chair, and more.

Tips for Finding Vacation Rentals in Seaside Heights

There are many VRBO options in Seaside, so you’re sure to find one that suits your needs. Many of these properties offer beach access, ocean views, and other amenities like WiFi and beach passes.

With so many options to choose from, it can be difficult to find the perfect Seaside Heights rental. Here are a few tips to help make the process easier:

• Start early: The best rentals, especially the larger homes and condos tend to book up quickly, so it’s important to start your search early.
• Set a budget: Determine how much you’re willing to spend on your rental and stick to it, if you would like a higher priced space, see if it is large enough to share with another family.
• Consider location: Do you want to be beach block? Do you want to be right in the middle of the action or at the quieter north end of town?
• Amenities and size: There are a ton of Seaside Heights rentals, but which one has the right amenities such as a pool, outdoor space, parking, beach badges, or central air? What about the number of bedrooms? Make sure there is enough room for your group.
• Read reviews: Reviews can offer valuable insights and help identify any potential issues, ensuring that you have a wonderful vacation in SSH.
• Talk To The Owner: Any reputable owner will take the time to talk to you and answer any and all questions you have.

What you can expect to find at the lower end of the price range are one or two bedroom condos, likely with only one bathroom. In the middle of the price range, you will find a mix of options. You may be able to find some two bedrooms with multiple bathrooms. In some cases, you may also find three or four bedrooms but don’t expect more than two bathrooms.

At the top end of the price range, you will find mostly four and five bedrooms and in a couple of cases you will find more than five bedrooms. These vacation rentals will also have four or more bathrooms.

Amenities like a pool may also play a part in the price, though it really depends on the quality of the rental and the complex it is a part of.

While the beach and swimming in the ocean are why you may go on vacation, a pool can add a bit of variety to the day! Pools are great especially if you have young children, everyone can still cool down in the water, but, in a much more controlled environment.

Later in the afternoon, the beaches can get also crowded. A private pool offers a more exclusive space for relaxing without the noise and commotion of a busy beach.

Parking in Seaside Heights

Parking in Seaside Heights is pretty easy, and there are lots of options. It is important to know that from October 31 to April 1, municipal parking is free. This includes all spots on the street and the parking lot that is off of Ocean Terrace, and between Blaine Ave and Grant Ave.

There are also a few areas that are free no matter what time of the year! You can park on the street for free all year if you are West of Central Ave, this is the side closer to the Bay. There is also a free lot on the Bay side at the end of Webster Ave, unfortunately, you can’t park overnight in this lot.

Like most other public parking, Seaside Heights does charge to park during peak hours. In Seaside, this means 24 hours a day from April 1 to October 31. As of 2024, the fees range from $2 to $3 an hour depending on the location.

If you have a state-issued handicap license or placard, you can also park for free in any municipal spot, any time of the year.

For military veterans, there are also free Purple Heart parking spots for vehicles with a Purple Heart license plate or placard issued by the NJ MVC. You can find these spots in these locations:

• 3 parking spaces are located in the municipal parking lot at Grant Avenue
• 1 parking space located at Carteret Avenue street end
• 1 parking space located at Blaine Avenue street end
• 1 parking space located at Franklin Avenue street end

Prepare before you go by downloading the mPay2Park+ app. This app will let you keep the meter fed while you are away from your car. Simply register our account, scan the QR code, or enter your location, enter your parking spot number and the length of time you will be parked in the spot.

The municipal lot on Grant Ave also has electric charging stations for up to 8 cars. To pay for the station you will need to download the ChargePoint app. It will cost you $1.50 an hour while the car is charging and $2 an hour after the car is done charging.

There are also a lot of privately owned parking lot throughout the town. The rates for these lots change from day to day, and sometimes even within the day itself. They typically range from $5 a day to $30 for the day.

Shopping In Seaside Heights

Shopping Tips! There is actually a very nice Acme (yes, I said Acme) right on the border of Seaside Heights and Ortley. Diagonal and right on the map, go north on the Boulevard, once you go past the CVS and enter into Ortley, turn around and come back south on 35. ShopRite will come up on your right. Right next to the Acme there is also a large liquor store.

Emergency Information For Seaside Heights

We hope you don’t need this information and this is not one of the things to do in Seaside Heights that makes your list. But it is important to be prepared. Here are some important things to know about the town.

• The police and fire station is one block back and two to the right (north).
• The nearest hospital is west on RT 37. Go back in the direction of the Garden State Parkway, instead of getting on the GSP, keep going straight, the hospital will come up on your left.
• Not one for hospitals? If you take RT 37 again back over the bridge, again keep going straight past the GSP entrance and turn around at the next uturn. Come back down 37 east to the Kohl’s shopping center. Inside that shopping center is an urgent care. OR you could also take RT 35 north to Point Pleasant. Right before you enter the town, you will come to a circle, there is a McDonalds in the center, go left and you will see an Urgent Care that is actually an emergency room.
